Born and raised in the heart of Kansas City’s Overland Park, Traci Smiley’s journey into patient care was catalyzed by her deep-seated passion for athletics. This passion not only defined her childhood but also paved the way to a distinguished collegiate rowing career at Kansas State University.
It was there, amid the rigors of competitive sports, that Traci’s fascination with the intricacies of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics flourished alongside her interest in Olympic lifting mechanics.
Fueled by this growing passion, Traci advanced her academic pursuits at the University of Kansas Medical Center, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Her commitment to excellence snowballed from there, with memberships in esteemed professional organizations, including the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Traci’s dedication to her field is matched only by her commitment to lifelong learning. She holds board certification in orthopedics, is a certified manual physical therapist and strength and conditioning specialist, and holds Level II certification in dry needling. Her expertise shines brightest when helping athletes and active individuals of all ages overcome obstacles to achieve pain-free movement, embodying her philosophy that physical well-being is the cornerstone of a vibrant life.
Beyond the walls of her practice, Traci’s zest for life extends into the great outdoors, where she spends time with her wife and their two loyal dogs. Whether she’s hiking through uncharted trails, casting lines into serene waters, setting up camp under starlit skies, or indulging in an array of water sports at the lake, Traci’s love for nature is a testament to her belief in balance, wellness, and the joy of living an active, healthy lifestyle.
